Pregnant with Back Pain? Here's Your Quick Fix.

As a yoga teacher who works with prenatal students, one symptom of pregnancy stands out above the rest. Low back pain. It's understandable. Babies are growing at a rapid rate and by about 24 or 26 weeks Mamas are feeling it! 

Here's a tip to help relieve back pain fast. Good news, you can do this just about anywhere and anytime. AND you don't have to be a yoga practitioner to do it.

WALL DOG
This one is the absolute best in the business!  (see below for visual)
  • Place your hands on a wall or counter
  • Walk back away from the wall with your hands on the wall and shift your hips back so that your hips and ankles line up
  • Move hands to shoulder distance and lower chest so that your ears line up with your biceps (or just above in some cases)
  • Breathe deeply
  • Be still or shift your hips slightly
  • Over 36 weeks pregnant? Turn your toes out and bend your knees a bit to help relax the pelvic floor
